RCRA Cleanup Regulations

Under EPA regulations, treatment, storage or disposal (TSD) permits must include specific requirements that demonstrate financial responsibility for cleanup (corrective action) if EPA or the state determines that cleanup is needed and the cleanup will not be complete before the permit's issuance. These requirements are called "Financial Assurances" (or financial responsibility) for corrective action. Additionally, when EPA issues a corrective action order it will generally include a requirement that the facility owner or operator provide financial assurances for corrective action.
