Environmental Forensics Library
The Environmental Forensics Library was established in 1972. The library supports the Agency's enforcement mission and makes environmental information resources more accessible to EPA staff and other environmental agencies.
Whom does the library serve?
The Library's primary clientele is the NEIC staff, but it also serves EPA regional and headquarters offices, and federal, state and local agencies working for environmental enfocement and compliance assurance. What does the library do? The Library provides research assistance to our primary clientele, gathering materials from the collection, searching online systems such as LEXIS-NEXIS, Dialog, STN and WestLaw. The Library supplies materials for clientele by book acquisitions, interlibrary loan, and document delivery. The Library arranges access to CDROM and Internet information including, MSDS, and the BNA Environment Library. Another of the library's information delivery services is routing of 130 subscriptions to NEIC staff. Library staff scans incoming literature and are proactive to alert staff to items relevant to their projects and interests. The information resources of the Library are available to the broader enforcement community at appropriate levels of service.
