Available ambulances have a patient capacity of two (with primary patient on cot, secondary patient on squad bench) or four (with primary patient on cot and three ambulatory patients on squad bench). A user's guide to options for ambulances and the federal specification for the Star of Life Ambulance are available below.

GSA offers many different types of ambulances under five line items.

Line Item 210 Type I-AD - conventional cab-chassis with modular body with additional capacity.
Line Item 211 Type I - conventional cab-chassis with modular body.
Line Item 212 Type II - van with integral cab-body.
Line Item 213 Type III - cutaway cab-chassis with integrated modular body.
Line Item 215 Type III-AD - cutaway cab-chassis with integrated modular body with additional capacity.
