States Vary Widely in Their Rates of R&D Growth

This Data Brief presents statistics on the geographic distribution of research and development (R&D) expenditures in the United States. Topics covered include the distribution of total R&D performance by state, state ranking in R&D performance by state and by sector, the state distribution of Federal support for R&D;, rates of growth in state R&D; expenditures, and R&D; "intensity" -- the ratio of R&D; expenditures in a state to its Gross State Product (GSP).
