National Parks are Special Places

Halau o kekuhi performs at the Kilauea Cultural Festival 2002.

In addition to the enriching ranger-led programs; walks, hikes, and talks scheduled througout the day, there are many annual and special events that take place throughout the year at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. No summer spent on the Big Island is complete without participating in the annual Kilauea Cultural Festival, held every July. Two or three times a month, the Kilauea Visitor Center hosts speakers from around the world at Tuesday evening's After Dark in the Park programs. Daily, resource issues and new activities are reported in a series of Press Releases.
