White House Internship Program
Welcome to the White House Intern website! Thank you for your interest in serving President Bush in this capacity. The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to learn more about the daily operations of The White House. Approximately 100 interns are chosen each spring, summer, and fall to participate in this highly competitive program.

We invite you to apply. Please read the Intern Application (doc) and the White House Office descriptions carefully. Office descriptions can help you determine areas of interest and make an informed decision regarding which offices might fit your qualifications.

Applicants must be:

At least 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship
Enrolled in a college or university
A U.S. citizen

Completed application materials must be submitted to Ann Gray, White House Intern Coordinator, prior to the following deadlines:

Spring, 2005 - January 10 to May 6 (Applications due October 15, 2004. Candidates notified the week of November 15, 2004.)
Summer, 2005 - May 24 to August 13 (Applications due March 1, 2005. Candidates notified the week of April 11, 2005.)

Interns will be selected based on their application and demonstrated interest in public service. Upon acceptance, candidates must consent to the following:

Security clearance prior to their start date
Random drug test

All security measures are confidential and intended to protect the applicant as well as the Executive Office of The President.

Internships are unpaid positions that may not exceed 90 days. Interns are responsible for their own transportation and housing.
