in its databases. Information on Air, Chemicals, Facility Information,
Grants/Funding, Hazardous Waste, Spatial Data, Superfund, Toxic Releases,
Water Permits and Drinking Water can be accessed.
Government Information Locator
Service (GILS)
is a new way to identify, locate, and describe publicly available federal
information resources, including electronic information resources. GILS
records identify public information resources within the federal government,
describe the information available in these resources, and assist in obtaining
the information. GILS is a decentralized collection of agency-based information
locators using network technology and international standards to direct
users to relevant information resources within the federal government.
EPA's GILS points to a wealth
of information available within the Environmental Protection Agency.
The National Technical Information Service
is the federal government's central source for the sale of scientific,
technical, engineering, and related business information produced by or
for the U.S. government and complementary material from international
sources.
Region 6 Library Services has a wide range
of environmental information, such as CDROMS and Electronic Resources.
