American Farm Bureau representatives from 11 Western states were on the call to review administration initiatives such as grazing rules, landowner incentive grants and the Healthy Forest Initiative

“And so I think what the Healthy Forest Initiative and the National Fire Plan have really done is help us come together to recognize this business of fire belongs to all of us and it’s going to take all of us to improve on the management of fire.”

Kathleen Clarke is the Director of the Bureau of Land Management where partnerships on all levels are crucial especially when it comes to species conservation.

“We have been focused on Sage Grouse conservation for over 30 years. We have been working hard with our partners, and that includes many of the good ranchers and farmers out there, to make sure that we’re managing habitat so that it sustains those Sage Grouse.”

Clarke points out that cooperative conservation and consultation is where solutions start among the many issues and the people they affect. Ron Tull, Washington.
