Recognizing Local Volunteers

 

Since March 2002, President Bush has met with local volunteers during the course of his travel to communities around the country to recognize them for their dedicated volunteer service.   President George W. Bush will meet Maya Babu when he arrives at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, on Saturday, October 30, 2004. Babu, 21, is a student at The University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. Babu founded University of Promise Alliance in 2003 to promote volunteerism among college students and to educate students on the benefits of volunteer service as a means to address social problems.
