Recognizing Local Volunteers

Since March 2002, President Bush has met with local volunteers during the course of his travel to communities around the country to recognize them for their dedicated volunteer service. 	President George W. Bush will meet Lois Rodger when he arrives in Medford, Oregon, on Thursday, October 14, 2004. Rodger, 76, is an active volunteer with Dogs for the Deaf in Central Point, Oregon.

	President George W. Bush will meet Frank Schnorbus when he arrives in Reno, Nevada, on Thursday, October 14, 2004. Schnorbus is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for abused and neglected children.

	President George W. Bush will meet Marcelo Chan when he arrives in Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Chan is an active volunteer with MentorKids USA.

10/11/2004	President Bush to Recognize Colorado Springs Men for Dedication to Volunteer Service

	President George W. Bush will meet Bob Carlone and Joe Henjum when he arrives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Carlone, 75, and Henjum, 70, founded The Home Front Cares program to provide support for military families in the Pikes Peak region whose loved ones are deployed.

	President George W. Bush will meet Ashley Stieb when he arrives in Denver, Colorado, on Monday, October 11, 2004. Stieb, 15, is an active volunteer with Volunteer Outdoor Colorado’s (VOC) Youth Advisory Board.
