Higher Education Opportunities:

General Information
Undergraduate Scholarship Program - The goal of this program is to increase the number of students who undertake course work and graduate with degrees in the targeted areas integral to NOAA's mission. The program targets students who have completed their sophomore or junior years at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), and have recently declared or are about to declare a major in an atmospheric, oceanic, or environmental science discipline. Tuition/Fee assistance, summer internships, stipends and more are available for students in the program.

Society for Marine Mamalogy: Strategies for Pursuing a Career in Marine Mammal Science - This site provides a great deal of information that answers students' questions about pursuing careers in marine mammal science. The topics covered answer questions about the types of jobs and salaries available, finding schools for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as finding grants, scholarships, internships, and training information.

National Undersea Research Program Students and Kids Page - This page provides students with a Kids Undersea Art Gallery, sea stories, and a section called "Live. . . from the Sea. . ." On this page, students don’t have to get wet, suffer sea-sickness, and spend days away from home to go to sea. Using underwater cameras and microphones, undersea sights and sounds come to the computer screen where you can listen to the sounds of an undersea volcano off Hawaii, visit with aquanauts living underwater on a coral reef off Key Largo, Florida, keep an eye on the nation's most sophisticated unmanned underwater "space" station, LEO-15, and look down, in near real-time, on the water planet from NOAA satellites.
