OAS calls accord "welcome development" for fair elections

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow the inter-American body to play a "major role" in providing assistance to Haiti, including activities relating to upcoming elections in the Caribbean nation, the OAS announced. (complete text)
