for preliminary proposals for the 2003 competition was on June
3, 2003. The deadline for full proposals (by invitation only)
is February 10, 2004.

gather together educators from NSF Research Centers, including STCs,
Engineering Research Centers, Materials Research Science and Engineering
Centers, and Nanoscale Science and Engineering Centers.

lessons about several STCs.
The
Research Value Mapping Program: Four
case studies
deal with STCs at the University of Virginia Center for Biological
Timing; the University of Texas at Austin Center for Synthesis,
Growth, and Analysis of Electronic Materials; the University of
Michigan Center for Ultrafast Optical Science; and the Carnegie
Mellon University Center for Light Microscope Imaging and Biotechnology.
