NTC REFORMULATED FUELS

EPA ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCES REFORMULATED FUELS PROGRAM

EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 1995

MEDIA ADVISORY

EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner and representatives from the petroleum and auto industries, environmental groups and state government associations will hold a press conference Friday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. to kick off the reformulated fuels program. Reformulated fuel is required in the nine smoggiest metropolitan areas of the country by Jan. 1. Another six major metropolitan areas also have

voluntarily joined the program.

Sue Tierney, Department of Energy Charles DiBona, American Petroleum Institute David Hawkins, Natural Resources Defense Council Andrew Card, American Automobile Manufacturing Association Bill Becker, State and Territorial Air Program Administrators Ronald White, Environmental Health, American Lung Association

WHAT: Press conference to announce a major new clean fuels program for America's smoggiest cities. Press credentials required.

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.

WHERE: The press conference will take place in the EPA Auditorium locate on the "I" Street side of Waterside Mall at 401 M St. S.W.
