EPA ADMINISTRATOR CAROL M. BROWNER TO ANNOUNCE
PROPOSED CLEANUP OF HUDSON RIVER PCB’s



Tomorrow, Administrator Carol M. Browner will hold a press conference in New York
City to announce a proposed plan for the cleanup of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the Hudson River. The details of the press conference are:

EVENT: EPA Administrator Browner to announce proposed cleanup plan for PCB’s in the Hudson River.

TIME: 12 p.m.

DATE: Wednesday, December 6, 2000

LOCATION: EPA
290 Broadway (Between Duane and Reade Streets)

Press credentials are required.

DIRECTIONS: Driving from north of New York City:
By N. Y. State Thruway: Take Thruway south. Go over the Tappan Zee and exit toward the Saw Mill Parkway. Take Saw Mill into the Bronx, and exit to the right toward the Henry Hudson Parkway. Take Henry Hudson across the Henry Hudson Bridge (toll). Take the West Side Highway all the way south to downtown Manhattan (highway becomes West St.) to Chambers Street. Make a left onto Chambers and go one block past Broadway to Elk Street. Make a left onto Elk, go one block, and make a left onto Reade Street. There is a commercial parking lot halfway up the block. 290 Broadway is on your right.

By Taconic State Parkway: Take Taconic south to the Saw Mill Parkway. Follow directions from Saw Mill above.

By subway:
Take the Lexington Avenue Subway (#4, 5 or 6) to Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall, the Eighth Avenue Subway (A or C) to Chambers Street, or the Seventh Avenue IRT (1/9, 2 or 3) to Chambers Street.
