EPA ADMINISTRATOR BROWNER TO ANNOUNCE NEW
SUPERFUND REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE





EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join local officials and community leaders at a press conference tomorrow in Front Royal, Va., to announce a new initiative to redevelop Superfund sites. The Superfund Redevelopment Initiative is a nationally coordinated effort to restore toxic waste sites to productive reuse. The Administrator will kick off this new initiative by awarding 10 grants totaling about $1 million to cities across the country.

LOCATION: Avtex Superfund Site, Front Royal, Va.

Directions to Avtex: Take I-66 West to Front Royal. Take Exit 6 and make a left on Routes 522/340. Go about three miles to a stop sign and make a right on Kendrick Lane. Avtex will be about a quarter of mile on the left-hand side.
