EPA ADMINISTRATOR BROWNER TO ANNOUNCE NEW SUPERFUND REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVEFOR RELEASE: THURSDAY, JULY 22, 1999 EPA ADMINISTRATOR BROWNER TO ANNOUNCE NEW SUPERFUND REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join local officials and community leaders at a press conference tomorrow in Front Royal, Va., to announce a new initiative to redevelop Superfund sites. The Superfund Redevelopment Initiative is a nationally coordinated effort to restore toxic waste sites to productive reuse. The Administrator will kick off this new initiative by awarding 10 grants totaling about $1 million to cities across the country. EVENT: EPA Administrator Browner holds a press conference to kick off a new national initiative to redevelop Superfund sites and announces 10 grants to local governments totaling $1 million DATE: Friday, July 23, 1999 TIME: 1 p.m. LOCATION: Avtex Superfund Site, Front Royal, Va. Directions to Avtex: Take I-66 West to Front Royal. Take Exit 6 and make a left on Routes 522/340. Go about three miles to a stop sign and make a right on Kendrick Lane.
