PA ONE DAY CONFERENCE ON THE BROWNFIELDS PILOT PROGRAM

EPA HOLDING A ONE-DAY CONFERENCE ON THE BROWNFIELDS PILOT PROGRAM

EPA is holding a one-day conference on the Brownfields Pilot Program, EPA's effort to stimulate economic redevelopment through environmental cleanup on Monday, Feb. 26 for business and civic leaders in the Northeast. The conference is being held in the 17th floor offices of the North Jersey Transportation Authority at One Newark Center, next to the seton Hall Law School Building in Newark, N.J. EPA Regional Administrator Jeanne M. Fox will host the meeting, with New Jersey's Senator Frank Lautenberg. New Jersey Representatives Donald Payne and Bob Franks, and New York Representative Nydia Velazquez are planning to participate. The members of Congress will deliver opening remarks starting at 9:15 a.m. and a press availability will follow at 9:45 a.m. Reporters outside the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area who are unable to attend can listen to the opening statements and the press availability by calling 202-260-7280 at 9:10 a.m. The access code is 7230 followed by the pound sign (#). The number of available lines is limited, so call 212-637-3665 by 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 to reserve a line. Reporters at the press availability are welcome to stay for the remainder of the conference.
