PA FED. ENVIRONMENT FELONY PROSECUTION RESULTS IN PRISON SENT

FEDERAL ENVIRONMENTAL FELONY
PROSECUTION RESULTS IN PRISON SENTENCE

On Oct. 7, Ray McCune, president and owner of Reclaim Barrel Supply Co. and Allstate Container Co., was sentenced to 18 months in prison, ordered to pay a $20,000 fine and pay $100,000 in restitution for the illegal storage of hazardous waste at both facilities. His codefendant, plant manager Bruce Jones, was sentenced to 18 months probation and a fine of $2,000 on Sept. 13. A cleanup conducted by EPA at Reclaim Barrel cost close to $1 million. The case was investigated by EPA's Criminal Investigation Division with the assistance of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality and the South Valley Water Reclamation Facility.
