WEST NILE VIRUS INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON NATIONAL PESTICIDE TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK


In relation to mosquito control, the National Pesticide Telecommunications Network (NPTN), in cooperation with EPA, serves as a source of information about pesticide and non-pesticide controls to address the concerns of the general public, news media, and the state and local agencies dealing with outbreaks of infectious diseases or heavy infestations of mosquitoes. NPTN’s West Nile Virus Resource Guide is a one-stop Internet site: http://ace.orst.edu/info/nptn/wnv.htm for links to federal, state and local information on the West Nile Virus and mosquito control or by telephone call NPTN at: 1-800-858-PEST (7378). NPTN pesticide specialists are available to provide objective, science-based pesticide information. NPTN is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time, excluding holidays.
