PA EPA RELEASES UPDATED DATABASE OF EMISS. ON HAZ. WASTE COM.

FOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, JANUARY 3, 1997

EPA RELEASES UPDATED DATABASE OF EMISSIONS ON HAZARDOUS WASTE COMBUSTORS

EPA proposed regulations for hazardous waste combustors on April 19, 1996. Based on comments, EPA updated its database of emissions and ancillary information on hazardous waste combustors. The Agency will publish a notice of data availability in the Federal Register and invite public comments for 30 days. The updated database corrects errors and adds new data submitted by commenters. EPA will use this new information in developing the final rule. The database contains information from over 90 incinerators, 40 cement kilns and 13 lightweight aggregate kilns. The database contains stack gas emissions data, process operating data and facility equipment design and operational data. The notice of data availability does not contain any discussion of policy options or possible changes to the proposed rule. The Agency is considering issuing a separate notice in April to discuss those issues. The database is accessible through the CLU-IN bulletin board by dialing 301-589-8366. The CLU-IN system operator number is 301-589-8368. The CLU-IN bulletin board can also be accessed through Fedworld on the Internet at http://www.fedworld.gov.
