PA ARIZONA TRUCK DRIVER INDICTED FOR FALSIFYING HAZARDOUS WASTE MANIFESTSFOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1997 ARIZONA TRUCK DRIVER INDICTED FOR FALSIFYING HAZARDOUS WASTE MANIFESTS On Oct. 15, Mark Pecoraro, a truck driver for Hazchem Environmental Inc., was indicted in U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in Phoenix. Pecoraro was indicted on one count of falsifying a hazardous waste manifest under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and one count of making a false statement to the Defense Logistic Agency (DLA.) The DLA was one of several government agencies that used Hazchem to transport hazardous waste. The indictment alleges that Pecoraro falsified a manifest and made a false statement to the DLA in an attempt to conceal hazardous wastes that were being stored beyond the ten day transportation storage time limit allowed under RCRA.
