PA EPA TOXICS DATA REPORTING COMMITTEE TO MEET SEPT. 29 - 30

FOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1997

EPA TOXICS DATA REPORTING COMMITTEE TO MEET SEPT. 29 - 30

EPA’s Toxic Data Reporting Committee of the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology is meeting for the first time Sept. 29 - 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheraton City Center Hotel, 1143 New Hampshire Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. The newly-formed committee consists of 23 members and was established as part of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to improve the type of information available to communities under EPA’s Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) program and to help streamline the reporting requirements and paperwork burden for businesses subject to the program. The committee has a two-year charter and will meet regularly during that time to review and make recommendations to improve existing TRI reporting requirements.
