MEDIA ADVISORY U.S. EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join Philadelphia Mayor Ed Rendell in Philadelphia, Pa., to announce the completion of the cleanup of the Publicker Industries toxic waste site on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1997, at 2:15 p.m. Browner will cite the completion of cleanup at the Publicker site -- the 500th Superfund cleanup -- as a symbol of the Clinton Administration’s success in fundamentally changing and improving the nation’s toxic waste cleanup program. A series of actions taken by the Administration has accelerated the cleanup of toxic waste dumps and significantly reduced the cost. Browner will also detail the need for Congressional action to clean up even more toxic waste sites and build on the progress of the last five years. WHO: U.S. EPA Administrator Carol M.
