PA INDIANA MAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGAL SEWAGE DISCHARGE

INDIANA MAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGAL SEWAGE DISCHARGE

On Nov. 7, George Pfaffenberger of Seymour, Ind., principal agent for Leslie Lake & Country Club Inc., was charged in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana in Indianapolis with violating the Clean Water Act by illegally discharging untreated sewage without a permit into a wetland. The wetland drains into Mutton Creek which drains into the Muscatatuck River, a tributary of the Ohio River. If convicted, Pfaffenberger faces a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison and/or fines of up to $250,000. The case was investigated by EPA’s Criminal Investigation Division.
