ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMPIONS AWARDS



At a Nov. 19 Environmental Champions award ceremony at McGraw-Hill headquarters in New York City, 38 participants in EPA’s “Partners for the Environment” programs were honored for their innovations in pollution prevention. The awards were sponsored by McGraw-Hill, publisher of Chemical Engineering magazine. Winners were nominated by EPA for accomplishments that go beyond compliance with environmental regulations, through Project XL, the Common Sense Initiative, Climate Wise, Design for the Environment, Green Chemistry, and other EPA voluntary stewardship programs designed to encourage innovations that may lead to better protection for the environment.
