EPA ADMINISTRATOR TO PRESENT 19 STUDENT PROJECTS WITH
THE PRESIDENT'S ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH AWARDS



EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will honor 19 student projects from communities across the U.S. with the President's Environmental Youth Awards at a ceremony to be held at EPA Headquarters on Thursday, May 22. The awards, presented annually since 1971, honor outstanding projects created by students in grades kindergarten through 12th to clean up communities and promote local environmental awareness.
The award recipients are from the following areas: Camarillo, Calif.; Tulare, Calif.;
Canon City, Colo.; Madison, Ga.; Baker, La.; Portland, Maine; Dorchester, Mass.; Ossineke, Mich.; Rochester, Minn.; Frederick, Md.; Washburn, Mo.; Bridgewater, N.J.; North Arlington, N.J.; Ainsworth, Neb.; Tillamook, Ore.; Morton, Pa.; Hixson, Tenn.; Austin, Texas; and Quilcene, Wash.
