Best Workplaces for Commuters^SM

On behalf of the Northern California Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), the coordinator for this year's Bay Area's Best Workplaces for Commuters campaign, we are pleased to announce that the 3rd annual Bay Area list will be released to the media and public in October 2004.

ACT is an acknowledged Bay Area transportation leader, helping employers create customized solutions to employees' commuting challenges. In cooperation with a coalition of organizations, we have invited more than 10,000 Bay Area employers to apply for this year's Best Workplaces for Commuters designation. Our coalition of partners consists of organizations from both the public and private sectors, committed to identifying employers who meet the list criteria and are interested in providing viable options to commuters across the Bay Area.

We look forward to providing the Bay Area's Best Workplaces for Commuters with the recognition they deserve. When we announce the 2004 list in October, special media attention will focus on qualified employers, highlighting their efforts to reduce traffic congestion and auto emissions, while enhancing the region's quality of life. We hope that you will join us in supporting this year's campaign.

EPA Welcomes New Best Workplaces for Commuters District

EPA welcomes a new Best Workplaces for Commuters District, Contra Costa Centre Association. In 2003, EPA recognized California's first ever Best Workplaces for Commuters Districts: Bishop Ranch and Hacienda Business Parks . Each of these districts offer comprehensive commuter benefits packages that meet the National Standard of Excellence to all employers and their employees located within the business parks.
