Search the GICS Database

The Grants Information Query Form allows you to retrieve data from the Grants Information and Control System (GICS). You may search by applicant name, award date, grant, geography, or text. A list of grants that match the criteria you selected will be returned.

User's Guide

Name Search
Enter a partial name to get a broader retrieval. We recommend that you restrict the search by using this option in conjunction with another search option (such as geography).

Applicant Name:
	Beginning with Exact Match Containing

Award Date Search
Enter an Award Date Range. The format is MMDDYYYY, where MM indicates month, DD indicates day, and YYYY indicates year (e.g., month = 06, day = 21, year = 1995).

Select an Applicant Type, or Grant Type.

Select a category of grants by clicking on the appropriate button. Currently, the default is set for "All Grants". You can also select a specific grant program by using the pull-down menu, which will override any grant type that you have selected.

Geography Search
For city, you must enter the state value. We strongly recommend that you enter a small geographical area to start the search.

Text Search
You may enter phrases of up to 40 characters each to search for grants by the project description field. The search will look for the complete phrase. You may enter up to five phrases, which will be separated by an "OR" command so that the search will retrieve grants containing any of the phrases entered. This search is not case sensitive.
