Description

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is the national professional society for obstetricians-gynecologists. The College publishes a variety of patient educational materials, audiovisual materials, and professional publications. ACOG houses a resource center which acts as a clearinghouse for ob/gyn information for both professionals and consumers. The resource center contains more than 10,000 books and 500 newsletters and medical journals.

The College publishes a series of booklets for consumer education. Materials have been produced to aid the professional in educating the patient in the areas of sex education, parenthood, maternal health care, maternal nutrition, adolescent pregnancy, and domestic violence. The resource center has prepared guides to patient education in childbirth, menopause, infertility, sex education, and contraception.
