Food Labeling Questions and Answers: Volume II

A Guide for Restaurants and Other Retail Establishments

CFSAN recently developed the second edition of the guidance document entitled "Food Lableing, Questions and Answers Volume II; a Guide for Restaurants and Other Retail Establisments." The guide presents answers to a range of commonly asked questions concerning Agency regulation issued in response to the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act (NLEA). These include questions about the application of exemptions and other special labeling provisions in restaurants, about the format for nutritional labeling when it is required, and other issues concerning nutritional labeling. The guide also responds to a number of questions on the use of nutrient content and heath claims on restaurnant and other retail foods.
