Drinking Water Quality in Indian Country: Protecting the Sources
One part
of providing safe water at the tap is preventing contamination of the
source.
The Environmental Protection Agency is firmly committed to helping Tribes
assess the rivers, lakes, springs and aquifers serving as Tribal public
water supplies and implement preventative measures against contamination
of these water resources where needed.

Protecting Drinking Water: A Workbook for Tribes.
The Water Education Foundation recently
completed this national water quality publication using a grant from EPA. The
publication
includes background information on the importance of protecting source water
from
pollution and includes a step-by-step workplan for Tribes interested in
developing
a protection plan for their drinking water.
