AHCA was founded in 1949 to promote standards for professionals in long-term health care delivery and quality care for residents. AHCA was formerly called the American Nursing Home Association, and AHCA and its affiliates are nonprofit associations. Online Resources
Print ResourcesThe Association publishes and disseminates many informational and educational materials on nursing home and long-term care facility services, management, personnel training, and health careers. Serial publications: AHCA Notes (newsletter), monthly--news for members; Provider (magazine), monthly--articles of interest for long-term health care managers and professionals. AHCA also publishes "How to Be a Nurse Assistant."
