National Weather Service Product Means Better Air Quality Warnings for the Northeastern U.S. New experimental air quality forecast guidance produced by NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will provide critical, high resolution data that will enable state and local agencies to issue more accurate and geographically specific air quality warnings to the public. NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Beginning October 1, new information on air quality will be available year-round in more than 100 U.S. cities. As part of an ongoing effort to protect the American public from air pollution, the Environmental Protection Agency, together with state and local governments, is expanding current air quality forecasts to include daily information on particle pollution. Particle Pollution forecast and air quality maps are available in the Where You Live, Forecasts, and Current Conditions Sections.
