Mount Washburn FireCam

This WebCam only operates when a fire lookout is on duty. We anticipate having a fire lookout stationed at Mt. Washburn beginning late June 2005.

This real-time still image will automatically update in seconds.

The camera is located at the Mount Washburn fire lookout station which is in the northeast area of Yellowstone National Park approximately 8 miles south of Tower Junction at 10,243 feet. It is being aimed by the fire lookout and will be pointed toward the largest fire currently being observed by the lookout. For more information about current fires in Yellowstone see our main Wildland Fire page.

If you have QuickTime Movie Player installed on your computer, you can see an interactive panorama of the fire lookout's quarters/duty station at Mt. Washburn.

Mount Washburn weather information is provided in cooperation with the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center.
