Health on the Corporation
by Dr. Janet Greenlees

This years Scholar in the City at the Mogan Cultural Center; Dr. Janet Greenlees from the University of York in England will discuss the health and working conditions of cotton weavers in Massachusetts and Manchester/Lancaster, England.

November 7th
New England's Coastal Mansions
by Miriam W. Butts

Explore the architectural ribbon of good taste found in the mansion houses from Newport, Rhode Island, to Columbia Falls, Maine. Investigate the varied impact of Georgian, Federal and late Victorian designs.

November 21st
Italian Gardens and the Invention of Wilderness
by John Hanson Mitchell

Resecheduled from last year. Who would of thought that the ordered, formal villa gardens of Italy would give rise to the American wilderness ideal and the creation of the National Park System.

(The park is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day)


Trolley Rides
Ride on a turn-of-the-century trolley from site to site during your visit. The trolley provides transportation to the Visitor Center, Suffolk Mill, Boott Mill, "Mill Girls and Immigrants" Exhibit, and other attractions in Lowell. The trolley runs daily through November. Free.

Especially for groups!

Take a ride on a turn-of-the-century trolley. The trolley normally runs March through November weather permitting, 7 days per week.
