| Grants and Cooperative Agreements (Assistance)Federal Grants and or Cooperative Agreements are used to accomplish a public purpose of support or stimulation authorized by the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended (FAA). On average fifty percent of PM/WRA's humanitarian assistance is provided through grants to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Along with its other partners in the international community and other U.S. Government agencies, PM/WRA continues to rely on the NGO community to implement many of its activities. These activities will help PM/WRA achieve U.S. strategic objectives to: 1) advance sustainable development and global interests by providing a humanitarian response to the harmful social and economic effects generated by landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), abandoned ordnance (AO), small arms/light weapons (SA/LW), and man portable air-defense systems (MANPADS); and 2) advance peace and security. These instruments invite interested parties to submit applications for PM/WRA assistance and explain what the application should contain, how it should be written, and the evaluation criteria to be used. |
