America Will Not Tolerate Slave Traders, Bush Says: President reaffirms U.S. commitment to fight human trafficking "Human life is the gift of our Creator -- and it should never be for sale. It takes a special kind of depravity to exploit and hurt the most vulnerable members of society. Human traffickers rob children of their innocence, they expose them to the worst of life before they have seen much of life. Traffickers tear families apart. Remarks by Torkel Patterson at  National Press Club (rescheduled for American Chamber of Commerce) Dhaka, Bangladesh September 14, 2004 : " The relationship between Bangladesh and the United States continues to grow, anchored by our shared values of democracy, tolerance, and free market economics.  In the very near future, we hope to sign in Dhaka a new U.S.-Bangladesh bilateral tax treaty that will encourage further American investment in Bangladesh and that will send a positive signal to investors around the world that Bangladesh is ready for business."
