A Day with Dennis Martinez

The U.S. Embassy and the National Police worked together in the presentation of one of the most famous Nicaraguan baseball players, Dennis Martínez. Dennis Martínez gave a series of baseball clinics for young students from Managua public schools. He also talked to them about the importance of staying away from drugs and alcohol.

COMMENTARIES OF THE DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE DAN FISK

"As the democratically elected President of Nicaragua, President Bolaños has fought courageously against corruption and in favor of transparent, ethical government. We support President Bolaños, who we consider a good friend of the United States, and applaud his efforts to bring corrupt politicians to justice. Contrary to local press reports, the policy of the United States government continues to be the same. We stand by President Bolaños and will continue to work with him and all other democrats in Nicaragua to end corruption and bring prosperity to the Nicaraguan people, who so rightly deserve it"
