Diversity Visa ("Green Card") Lottery 2006 Registration Begins
An opportunity to immigrate to the United States
The Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery is a program in which
the United States awards 50,000 permanent resident visas annually to
individuals applying from countries that historically have low levels
of immigration to this country.
An opportunity for rural high school boys and girls
to test their new skills
Nsalamanga High School students practise before the tournament
U.S. Fulbrighter, Ken Mukai, single-handedly started raising funds to build the first-ever basketball court in rural KZN along with the nucleus for a basketball program for Nsamalanga High School. Mukai, who will be leaving South Africa in mid-December 2004 and hoped to expose his young and relatively unskilled charges to the excitement of a large tournament before leaving, had his ambition fulfilled.
Centre provides an ideal way to bring people together
and promote mutual understanding
Ambassador Frazer with students at the Center's opening
ceremony.
"Today’s opening of the Leadership Resource
Center is encouraging. We are taking the first concrete steps to link
the young of both societies so that we can more fully realize the dream
of Dr. Bunche: to work for mutual understanding among nations based
on his faith in the essential goodness of humankind."
