Usage Rights - Finished Productions

Finished productions may be viewed in public or private meetings, including classrooms, without requesting permission. If broadcast or "streamed" on the Internet, the entire program must be shown and the production must be identified/credited as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, or jointly sponsored U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service production. (You may not broadcast or stream just selected footage; some of these productions have copyrighted segments.) The videos may not be shown or advertised in such a way that implies U.S. Government/U.S. Department of the Interior-Fish and Wildlife Service endorsement, promotion or support of a particular organization, product, or position.

Usage Rights - B-roll (Footage)

Most footage tapes (b-roll) available from the Service are public domain. Public domain footage may be used as long as there is no implied U.S. Government / U.S. Department of the Interior / Fish and Wildlife Service endorsement, promotion, or support of a particular organization, product, or position. NOTE: there are some footage tapes which contain restricted segments. These will be indentified by slate on the tape. You must contact the owner of the footage for permission to use.
