Visiting parks can be a spectacular experience. It should also be a safe experience. Natural hazards are part of the natural environment and can include land or rock slides, calving glaciers, floods, volcano eruptions, ozone alerts, or diseases such as west nile virus. Protecting the visitors and the resources of the National Park System is an integral part of the National Park Service's mission. This web site provides information to help visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit to their national parks.
