Government Web Site Features Publications and Posters About World War II

Washington, DC – As part of the Nation's 60 th anniversary salute to the men and women who fought in the Second World War, the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has created a History and Remembrance page at its Online Bookstore. The new page features a selection of the U.S. Government's publications on World War II, including key combat volumes in the classic United States Army in World War II series, two CD-ROM sets that include every volume in the series, two beautifully illustrated books of military art, and a special D-Day commemorative poster.

The new History and Remembrance page also features an illustrated list of 17 new posters from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The posters combine historic combat maps with rare photos covering the greatest land and air battles of World War II, including D-Day, Anzio, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and many more.

In addition, the page includes links to the entire range of military history books sold by the Government Printing Office.
