Evaluations and Inspections

The Inspector General is responsible for assisting Office of Personnel Management respective departments and agencies in promoting economy and efficiency, by preventing and detecting fraud and abuse with respect to agency programs and operations.  We provide assistance to agency program managers in their efforts to determine the feasibility of new initiatives and the effectiveness of existing operating methodologies.  The evaluative process we employ, whether requested or mandated, consists of independent studies and analytical reviews that often serve as the cornerstone for strategies to improve program cost efficiency and effectiveness, management, and the overall quality of service delivery throughout the agency.
