Revised Land Use Planning Handbook
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is making the latest revision of
the Land Use Planning Handbook available to the public. There is no formal
public comment period, however, the BLM will consider all constructive
comments from the public during the 30-day internal review period. First
released in November, 2000, the Handbook is now being updated to incorporate
supplemental planning guidance issued in a number of Instruction Memorandums
and Information Bulletins over the last four years. Consolidation of this
planning guidance into one document will help not only BLM land use planners
but also members of the public with an interest in the planning process.
The Handbook will also include additional "how to" instructions
that will guide local interdisciplinary teams through specific steps in
the planning process.
