staff support to the Assistant Director for Migratory Birds and State
Programs on activities associated with the administration of fish and
wildlife grant programs.

Regional Federal Assistance Office (USFWS)- All grant proposals and requests for federal assistance are made to your Regional Federal Aid Office. | ||||

GRANT PROGRAMS | |||
The Federal Aid in Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration Acts were created to fund restoration efforts for the benefit of fish, wildlife and the American people. | ||||
|
Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) - This two-part, formula and competitive grant program is authorized for States to construct and enhance facilities for transient recreational boaters who operate vessels 26 feet long or larger. | |||
|
Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration- The program is authorized with State fish and wildlife agencies for sport fish management, boating access, and aquatic education projects. | |||
|
Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration-
The program is authorized with State fish and wildlife
agencies for restoration of wild birds and mammals and to acquire, develop
and manage their habitats, for the education of hunters, and development
and management of shooting ranges.

Clean Vessel Act- This
competitive program is authorized for States to construct pumpout and
dump stations to dispose of vessel sewage from recreational boaters.

|
Coastal Wetlands- This competitive program is authorized by the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to grant funds to coastal states to carry out coastal wetlands conservation projects. |
