SBA works with many private, public
and academic organizations to provide quality information and training
to small businesses. If your organization would like to offer a free
online training program(s), course(s) or workshop(s) to small businesses,
we would like to hear from you. The offering(s) must be substantive,
meet SBA requirements and satisfy needs identified by our clients.
You may be asked to sign a co-sponsorship agreement with the SBA.
What Is An SBA Co-sponsorship?
A co-sponsorship is a training, information or educational activity
designed to benefit small businesses and is achieved through cooperation
with the SBA and another organization(s). Organizations that cooperate
with the SBA in a co-sponsorship can be for-profit corporations,
non-profit organizations, associations, academic institutions, public
agencies or certain other approved entities.
How Co-sponsorships Are Used
Co-sponsorships are used primarily to leverage SBA's resources
and provide improved educational and training activities/events
for small businesses. A well thought out and executed co-sponsorship
activity should create a "win-win" situation for the co-sponsoring
organization, the SBA and, most importantly, the small businesses
participating in the activity. Small businesses will benefit from
the enhanced resources, experience and support from both the SBA
and the cooperating organization(s).
Why They Are Important
Co-sponsored activities are important to SBA because they allow
the agency to benefit from the experience, resources and branding
of another organization. They are important to cooperating organizations
because of the alliances created with the SBA and, in the case of
printed or electronic educational materials, co-branded distribution
through the agency's national and/or regional channels. Co-sponsorships
are important to small businesses because the leveraged activities
draw from the experience, resources and branding of all organizations
involved.
