Alpine Satellite Development PlanThe Alpine Final EIS was released Sept. 3 and can be reviewed by clicking the following link - Final EIS. Copies are available at libraries throughout the state and can be obtained at BLM offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks. BLM will issue a Record of Decision after the review period. News release.Northeast National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska Plan RevisionBLM is proposing to revise its 1998 plan for the northeast corner of the reserve. Public meetings on the draft plan have been held and the comment period closed August 23, 2004 (news release). A draft EIS will be released in the fall. See the project home page . National Petroleum Reserve lease sale raises $53.9 millionFive oil companies submitted bonus bids totaling $53,904,491 to win rights to develop 123 oil and gas lease tracts on 1,403,561 acres in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. Northwest NPRA PlanSecretary of the Interior, Gale Norton, signed the Record of Decision for the Northwest NPR-A IAP/EIS on January 22, 2004.
