provides employees additional flexibility by allowing them to
work at a geographically convenient alternative worksite, such as home or a telecenter, on an average of at
least one day per week.
"OPM efforts to promote Telework tie directly into the President's . Telework can remove the "commuting" barrier for those whose disabilities prevent them
from driving or taking mass transit to a Federal office building. Telework also allows people who have partially
recovered from injuries and/or illness to resume work more quickly because they can perform their duties at
off-site locations. Additionally, telework arrangements support employees who have temporary or continuing
health problems or who might otherwise have to retire on disability".
