OpenInfo

The Open Information application suite (OpenInfo) allows users to search the locator directories for Department of Energy federal and contractor employees. It first made its debut in 1995 and has become a very popular application used DOE-wide. It is available for download ONLY to Department of Energy federal and contractor employees.

OpenInfo will save you valuable time and offer you an unlimited amount of useful DOE information.  This application can give you employee, organization, and services information all relating to the Department of Energy through a Windows graphical interface.  Besides having the ability to locate people throughout the Department of Energy's community, you have the ability to send e-mail notes or print labels based on the information returned from your system searches.

To install OpenInfo perform the following:
 
Download the following file to your desktop. Having it on your desktop makes it easy to locate when you need to delete it after
    the install.

                    OISetup.exe
 
It is recommended that you close all open applications (including your browser) before starting the install. If an application is
    using a file that the installation process needs to replace, you will be asked to close that application by the installation
    process.

Double-click the OISetup.exe on your desktop

If any system files need to be updated during the install, you will be requested to reboot. In this case, you must reboot before
    running OpenInfo. If you are not requested to reboot, you may open OpenInfo whenever you are ready.

After a successful installation, remove the installation file OISetup.exe from your desktop.
