What
is the TSC? Reclamation's Technical Service Center (TSC) provides
scientific, research, and engineering services related to water resource management
and development. For more details, see:
The TSC opened for business in fiscal year 1995 and currently has
about 670 employees.
Why
use the TSC?
| Superior Science. The TSC is a world leader in water management,
applying "good science" to solve water related problems such as water
quality in lakes and streams, fisheries research, and aquatic site pest management. |

Laboratory. The TSC operates a laboratory facility with capabilities in areas
such as materials engineering, ecological research, water treatment technology,
earth sciences, hydroelectric research, and hydraulic models. |
| Excellence in Engineering. Reclamation has been the premier designer,
builder, and operator of dams, irrigation systems, and hydroelectric plants since
1902. No one understands these systems and how to maintain this infrastructure
better. |

How
does the TSC operate?
The TSC philosophy is customer focused for fast,
flexible, and friendly services.
- TSC services are provided to customers as requested on a job-by-job
basis.
- Customers fund the TSC through service agreements. TSC receives
virtually no direct appropriation funding.
- The TSC operates as a business, and uses a billable
rate fee structure to fully recover its operating costs.
- Hiring the TSC is fast and simple.
